In keeping with the times, this piece is a translation of the bible quote “You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter.” – James 5:5
This includes two sets of text from two of the most widely used full translations of the bible: from Van Dyke & Al-Boustani translation (dating back to 1865) and the Jesuit translation (dating back to 1880). Both these translations were done in Lebanon. The text in the pig is written in Jali Diwani, while the text underneath is written in Diwani.

وتماشيا مع العصر نقرأ في هذا العمل ترجمة لمقطع من الكتاب المقدس العهد الجديد. رسالة يعقوب 5:5
” أنتُم تَعيشون على الأرضِ عيشةَ رفاهيّةٍ وانْصرافٍ إلى المَباهِجِ واللّذّات؛ وَقًدْ أَصبَحت قُلوبكم سمينةً كَأنّها جَاهزةٌ ليومِ الذّبح.”
في إنجاز هذا العمل تم استخدام ترجمتين من أكثر الترجمات شيوعا للكتاب المقدّس؛ الترجمة الأولى ل فإن دايك و البستاني ويعود تاريخها إلى عام ١٨٦٥م ،أما الترجمة الثانية فهي الترجمة اليسوعية ويعود تاريخها إلى عام ١٨٨٠م.تمّت كلّ من الترجمتين في لبنان.
رُسمَ الخنزير من وحي النّص المَكتوب بالخط العربي الديواني الجلي بينما كتبت الترجمات في أسفل الصورة بالخط العربي الديواني.

Cela comprend deux ensembles de textes provenant de deux des traductions complètes de la Bible les plus largement utilisées : de la traduction de Van Dyke & Al-Boustani (datant de 1865) et de la traduction jésuite (datant de 1880). Ces deux traductions ont été faites au Liban. Le texte dans le cochon est écrit en Jali Diwani, tandis que le texte en dessous est écrit en Diwani.
